Pawtucket Animal Shelter

The Pawtucket Animal Shelter is a municipal animal shelter located in SlaterPark in the City of Pawtucket, RI.

Our shelter provides temporary care and housing for stray and/or abandoned animals found in our city. The shelter consists of 19 dog runs; a cat room (14 cages) and a puppy room (4 cages).

Though our shelter facility is small, we were able to provide services for 891 cats and 541 dogs last year. We also cared for a number of rabbits, birds, reptiles and other small animals.

The shelter is open 7 days per week from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Evening appointments may also be scheduled as needed.

DIRECTIONS: Take 95 to Exit 2A (route 1A So., Newport Ave./Pawtucket) Stay on Newport Avenue

for 7 traffic lights. Immediately after the 7th traffic light, you will see the entrance to SlaterMemorial Park on your left side. After turning into the park, stay straight until you come to a children's playground. Take a left into the parking lot.
